PARENTS CODE OF ETHICS

Parents Code o Ethics

The following are ethics established by the Warrior Little League/Town Team board to serve as guidance for PARENTS to follow during the course of the season in order align with the mission of the Little League/Town Team programs.

Mission:

The vision of the Warrior LL/TT is to focus on individual growth of skills by promoting teamwork and pride to ultimately empower each athlete. In turn, we create a family culture of sustainable growth for the program.

PLANNING AND PREPARATION

  1. I understand that most equipment including bats, balls, helmets, and catcher’s gear is provided by the Little League/Town Teams board. However, if I wish to purchase any items for my child, I will use the Equipment Guide provided to purchase the appropriate gear that adheres to the age-level rules.

  2. I understand that only shoes with rubber cleats are allowed in practice and games.

COMMUNICATION

  1. I understand the team needs a certain number of players to play, so if my child cannot make it to a practice or game, I will mark them absent in the GameChanger app.

  2. I understand that if I have a private matter that I’d like to discuss with the coaches, I will set up a time to speak with them in private.

  3. I will refrain from swearing or using derogatory language of any kind during a game.

  4. If I am unable to get my child to a game, I know to reach out to the coaches or other parents for a ride for my child.

SPORTSMANSHIP

  1. I will practice and model good sportsmanship for my child during games. Kids learn by what I do and not just what I say.

  2. I understand the umpire is dedicating his/her time so the kids can compete. They may not get every call right, but I trust they are making the best calls they can in the spirit of the rules, and I respect that.

  3. I understand that I represent our team and school when present at the game. Therefore my actions and language will be positive and supportive of not just my child, but the whole team.

  4. During games, I understand that I am not the coach. I did not volunteer for that role. Therefore, it is not my role to coach my child on specific skills from the bleachers. I am to offer support regardless of their performance or outcome. From the first pitch of the game to the last out, it is the coach’s role to coach the skills they practice. I do not need to approach the dugout during the game.
